Deborah Lippmann 'Lady Sings The Blues'

Hello all!

This is a quick post to show you a swatch of Deborah Lippmann's 'Lady sings the blues'. Which was one of the polishes I mentioned in my last Haul post.

I absolutely loove this polish! It brushed on smoothly and it was opaque in only two coats. Plenty of the glitter transferred over too so I didn't need to dig around in the bottle. I think this is a great polish to accompany a little black dress for the party approaching season!

This Months Bargin Polish Haul

Hello all, Its been a while! But that hasn't stopped me buying polish!

I was pretty pleased with what I found this month. A while back I had my eye one some revlon polishes that were on sale on the website fragrance direct and I completely forgot to order them so they sold out. :( boo!

However I found them in good old poundland

The colours left to right are: Classy, Popular and Minted

Then randomly popping into Tk Maxx I found all these Deborah Lippmann polishes reduced to £8!

Colours left to right are: No More Drama, Stairway To Heaven and Lady Sings The Blues

Also in Tk Maxx I picked up my first Ciate polish in a pastel yellow called 'Loop the Loop' that was reduced to only £2!

Ill be swatching these polishes soon!
Have you found any good stores to buy polish?

Models Own 'Snowflake'

Hello all!

This is a quick manicure I did last night which I finally got to use a Models own 'snowflake'. I bought the polish last winter and had a complete mind blank on how I could use it. Since its autumn now I can use darker polishes so I teamed it up with Opi's 'Honk if you love opi'.

The polish goes on a bit thick but plenty of the flakes came off so I only needed to do one coat. Which to be honest if I did do another coat it would have been way too lumpy. I love the colours the flakes produce and I will definitely be using this polish more in the winter months.

I hope you enjoyed this post and what are your favourite Models Own polishes?

Monday 30 September 2013

Hello all!

Again its been a while, I'm gunna try and post once a week and get back up and running with painting my nails and blog posts.

This is another manicure I did a few weeks ago. I had never used striping tape before and I waited pretty much all summer for it to arrive from its long journey from hong kong, but I was pretty impressed when i got it.

So I decided to do a slightly different manicure to a chevron design and to be honest I think it was slightly easier, the polish layers where alot thinner as I used a sponge rather than painting on a layer.

Its supposed to be gradient, the lighter purple doesn't really show but overall it turned out great!

Let me know what you think and whats your favourite tape mani designs?

Floral Nail Art

Summer has been and gone quick! How depressing, my winter coat is in full use now.
I haven't been able to blog in a while again which is annoying. Getting back into routines at work which then ended up ruining my cuticles so I haven't even painted my nails much!

This post is a manicure I did during the summer and its one of those designs ill probably do again. When I'm having a nail art block I tend to always do a floral design, but I really like the colours I used used for the roses. Once again the base colour I used was Essie's Neo Whimsical. I just cant get over how much a love this colour!

It was such a lovely day I figured why not take some pictures outside for once and found flowers that matched my nails!

Hope you enjoyed this post, more nails will be up soon!

This months bargain polish finds!

So every month or so I pop into my local poundland to see if there is any decent polishes. I have to say every time I go in there I leave with at least one bottle of polish. Ive found some pretty decent brands there and this months selection was pretty impressive. I have gone to other stores in the past to see if they have any different polishes but they seem to be the same in every store. They tend to change their stock maybe every month? not too sure!

The colours you find are obviously not new season however at £1 each I have no complaints! So here are the polishes I found this month. Most of the time it tends to be the same brands but this month they had OPI shatter polishes! And I think going by the name the second pink/purple glitter shatter is from the Nicki Minaj collection which is what about a year or so old?

Opi's 'Shatter The Scales'

Opi's 'Super Bass Shatter'

Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Ware in '460 Wet Cement'

Revlon Top Speed '330 Emerald'
Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Ware 400 Virtual Violet

So there are the polishes! If you have a local poundland defo check it out! Have you found any good polishes in there yourself?

If you know of any other places to get polish cheap please leave a comment! As much as I love nail polish I gotta buy mine on a budget!

Hope you all enjoyed this post and hopefully if I find any gems in there again and you guys want to see what I got I will write another post next month!

South Park Nail Art

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, been feeling under the weather this week and only painted my nails once!

This is the last of the character based nail art I have done and it is of one of my favourite shows, South Park! Again this was with a white base and painted with acrylic paints. These characters were alot easier to paint compared to the Ed, Edd n Eddy ones however I found the easier characters to paint e.g Kenny harder and managed to mess up! Go figure

So heres the Manicure. I chose my favourite characters in rather than just paint the four boys. By far the best character is Randy Marsh (Stan's dad) which is on the middle nail. Butters on my index, Cute little Ike (Kyle's Brother) and Kenny on my baby nail. I'm pretty disappointed with how he turned out.

Overall I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out! Randy defo has to be my fave!

I hope you enjoyed this post. Hopefully my next posts will have more of the step by step pictures on them. I always forget to take photos while I'm doing my nails. Get too into the zone!

Tudor Rose Nail Art

Yesterday I took a little trip to visit the Tower of London, So i figured why not blog about my Tudor Rose Manicure I painted a few weeks back.

I'm a little bit obsessed with the Tudor family and English history in the 16th century. SOOO random but Ive always had an interest and that random interest has led me to paint it on my nails?!

I used Essie's 'Neo Whimsical' as a base colour. I think this has to be my favourite polish at the moment. It paints on so easily and the colour is gorgeous. Its the perfect nude with pinky and purple tones for my skin colour.

The Patterns on my index, ring and baby nail were inspired by Tudor clothing and jewellery. I used blue pearlescent gems and the gold polish was Mavala's Portillo. Then I used Acrylic paints to paint the Tudor Rose on my middle finger.

It'l be great to know what you think of this manicure and thank you to any one who enjoyed this post!

I'm sorting out the last bits and pieces to my Etsy shop and will open very soon! I will write a blog post with all links and information to my shop! Exciting!

Sonic The Hedgehog Nail Art!

Ive had such a great response and feedback on my first post as well as on twitter and instagram, I'm chuffed! Thank you to all that have taken the time out of your day to have a read! I got the taste for this now so I'm desperate to talk about my next post!

This manicure was painted a few weeks ago and yet again I was having another trip into memory lane. I obviously miss being child in the 90s.

I'm a huge video game fan and I grew up playing on Sega and Nintendo consoles mostly and now as an adult I still spend way too many hours playing Xbox. Ive been wanting to do more nail art based on games, I just gotta figure out how it'll work as a manicure. So far the 'gaming' manicures Ive done is this mani and Portal 2 a while back.

Anywho of course one of my favourite game franchise as a child was Sonic the Hedgehog and I haven't seen many manicures with these characters painted on so I thought id give it a go! I painted these on a Essie's 'Blanc' background and I used acrylic paints to paint Sonic, Knuckles and Tails. For my baby nail I put on golden rings using dotting tools.

Overall I was happy with how it turned out. I still have some more older nail art to blog about which may be posted in the next few days!

Thank you all for your lovely feedback and I hope you enjoyed this post!

First Post! Ed, Edd n Eddy Nail Art

Ahh first post! I'm pretty terrified to be honest so you will have to bare with me until i get used to all this!

I figured as I don't have many new polishes to swatch, to step back in time a few weeks and show some of my nail art.

This was my first detailed nail art in a while and I was pretty scared with the task id given myself. I was having a nostalgia moment looking at all my old favourite Cartoon Network characters and fell back in love with Ed, Edd n Eddy.

I just used Essie's 'blanc' as a white base so it was easier to fix any mistakes and I used acrylic paints to paint the characters. Ed on middle finger, Edd on my ring finger and Eddy on my index. I didn't want to leave my baby nail blank so i just had to add Plank! At one stage I had to completely remove Edd and start over. Nightmare!

I somehow managed to save him, and this manicure has to be one of my personal faves.

I really hope any one who reads this post enjoyed it! I will be posting some more nail art in the next few days!
